Policy for Hiring Musicians

Classical Rate     $165/musician
Applies to wedding ceremonies, background music for wedding receptions, parties, memorial services, etc., up to 1.5 hours.  For additional time or overtime, add $55/musician/0.5 hour.

Travel/Parking Fee             $0-and up/musician
A travel fee is based on the location of an event. 

Booking Fee          $50/event

Overtime         $55/musician/0.5 hour

Overtime is possible depending on the musicians’ availability.  Payment is due at the time of requested overtime.  Please be prepared to write a check out to Lakeshore Music.

Payment
The booking fee and 25% of the total amount (both are not transferable nor refundable) must be received before any musicians are booked and a date and time can be reserved.  The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to an event.  Lakeshore Music must be notified in writing of the cancellation of an event at least 30 days prior to that event, otherwise the client is responsible for the final payment by the due date.  A late fee of $25 will be charged if the final payment is not received by the due date.  A $25 fee will be charged for any returned checks.  

Music
The Lakeshore Music library contains classical chamber music from the standard wedding music and background music repertoire.  Most of the music is scored for either trumpet + string ensemble, string quartet, or brass quintet.  Occasionally, this music may be suitable for other ensembles.  If a requested piece is not in the Lakeshore Music library, or if the piece is not in the standard repertoire, an arrangement may be made with an additional fee.

Playing Conditions
Musicians need enough playing space and should be placed out of the walkway of people.  Musicians should also be placed where there is sufficient lighting.  Lakeshore Music requests that there be stable, armless chairs reserved for the musicians upon arrival.  Musicians will need to take breaks between sets.

Outdoors: Lakeshore Music will do its best to compromise, however, due to the nature of our instruments, it must ultimately be the musicians’ decision whether or not it is suitable to play outdoors. Musicians need to be placed in the shade and out of the sunlight.  In any event of unsuitable weather (rain, heavy mist, windy conditions, temperatures too high or too low, etc.), musicians are to be placed indoors.

Refunds
There is no refund on any fees.
